Conybeare<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Situ\u00e9 au carrefour de l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9 et du Moyen-\u00c2ge, du monde grec et du monde latin, oscillant d\u2019une rive \u00e0 l\u2019autre de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, Augustin fut attir\u00e9 d\u2019abord davantage par l\u2019Orient de Mani que par l\u2019Occident chr\u00e9tien. Apr\u00e8s sa conversion, Augustin prit ses distances avec une formation et une culture classiques qui rejaillit n\u00e9anmoins dans tous ses ouvrages. Cette ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 traverse l\u2019ensemble de son \u0153uvre et fait de lui une figure de transmission et d\u2019enseignement critiques. Il s\u2019employa ensuite \u00e0 int\u00e9grer la culture gr\u00e9co-latine \u00e0 une synth\u00e8se nouvelle qui nourrit la pens\u00e9e th\u00e9ologique, philosophique et litt\u00e9raire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque m\u00e9di\u00e9vale, avant de conna\u00eetre une apoth\u00e9ose \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque moderne. Loin d\u2019\u00eatre rel\u00e9gu\u00e9 par la suite dans son seul r\u00f4le de docteur de l&rsquo;Eglise catholique, il continua d\u2019irriguer la pens\u00e9e du XX<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> si\u00e8cle, et d\u2019influencer les personnalit\u00e9s les plus fortes et les plus diverses : aussi bien celle d\u2019Hannah Arendt, qui lui consacra son premier essai, que de Jacques Derrida, comme lui \u00e9cartel\u00e9 entre l\u2019Europe et l\u2019Afrique, et qui composa des <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Circonfessions <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">directement inspir\u00e9es par les <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confessions <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00eaque d\u2019Hippone. Aujourd\u2019hui, plus que jamais, Augustin reste \u201cnotre contemporain\u201d \u00e0 plus d\u2019un titre : longtemps d\u00e9chir\u00e9 entre plusieurs pays et plusieurs traditions, il r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 tirer de ces diff\u00e9rentes identit\u00e9s culturelles une synth\u00e8se \u00e9blouissante susceptible de nous aider \u00e0 penser les contradictions de notre pr\u00e9sent. Augustin d\u2019Hippone fut un \u201cpasseur\u201d : c\u2019est cette dimension essentielle de son \u0153uvre, mise en \u00e9vidence par un colloque important il y a d\u00e9j\u00e0 deux d\u00e9cennies<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que nous nous proposons de r\u00e9interroger au cours de ces IVe Journ\u00e9es augustiniennes de Carthage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Comit\u00e9 scientifique<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pr.
